2171) I’m fortunate enough to have a very small chest, and can bind with ACE bandages as a result with no side effects or problems. It’s a personal decision that has worked for me for nearly three years. Yet I am regularly shouted at and berated by ‘support’ groups for it. I now just lie to them and say I use a binder to make life easier. I really shouldn’t have to do that, but well done everyone who’s managed to shame me into lying.
I’m not going to shame you for your decision, but I would not like you being so flippant about your usage of ace bandages either.
You don’t know how many blokes, possibly young and impressionable, are thinking, hey, it works for this person, so it’d work for me too! I know we’re not responsible for what other people chose to do, but I feel like it’s a bit of social responsibility.
I have really tiny tits too. (Well, maybe not tiny, but I can get away with not binding at all if I wear lots of loose layers and slouch.) I used to use both tape and bandages. I thought there were no side-effects either. But I started using a binder because it was much less effort. Recently, I tried bandages again because I couldn’t find my binder and after a few hours, I started feeling like it was getting a little harder to breathe. I probably hadn’t been noticing it before since that’s what I had become used to.
I’m not saying this is nessecarily the same for you, but I don’t think you can be 100% sure you aren’t really experiencing any negative side-effects.
All I’m saying is, I think it isn’t really apropriate to go saying you choose to bind with bandages instead of binders without clarifying you don’t encourage others to do it too. (I can only assume you don’t anon, only because I have no idea who you are and am just covering all my bases.)

Rooster Tails is an excellent comic about the daily lives of two transmen living together. There’s also plenty of body- and sex-positive art, if you’re interested in that.
I’d just like to say, you guys know binders in those stlye are meant to be worn by putting your feet through them and pulling them up, right???
I’m just sayig y’all could really hurt yourselves that way. D:
Ha - that’s what the packaging said too. But hips my size are never gonna let me get that binder on feet first.
I swear mate, it works! I’ve got the largest thighs ever and my ass is huge. I didn’t believe it would work either! I kept thinking, shit, I’m going to stretch this binder out before I can even wear it properly, and that that wasn’t foing to work because I am the definition of a pear but I swear, it will work and it becomes so easy when you get used to it.
I tried putting it on head first and I actually got fucking STUCK! :)) I had a mini-heart attack because I couldn’t even get it off for a good while and I couldn’t ask anyone for help! lol

Day Seventeen: What’s your binding choice and why?
I have a binder from underworks I wear on special occassions or just when I’m dressing fancy. For more casual binding, I have these girdle things my mom originally got bor my fat stomach but if you pull them up, they totes work for binding.
But on a normal day, I don’t bind at all. Just make sure to wear a jacket or something over my shirt.
